The ICT sector in Ghana employs around 7,000 people and contributes about 3.6% to the country’s GDP. The ICT sector’s revenue is projected to reach $5 billion by 2030. The export of ICT service grew 19% over 2019–2020. 

There are currently about 150  companies offering IT and business process outsourcing services in Ghana. There are several IT-parks and more than 50 hubs that provide training, incubator, and mentorship services to startups. Ghana has a few achievements in the tech sector to show, like Google’s first Artificial Intelligence Centre in Africa was launched in Ghana. Ghanan engineer Dr. Mensah was involved in the invention of fiber optics and nanotechnology, received the 2019 International Nanotechnology Conference award.
